Paint the History
We created a fun tour for you to discover our special heritage, both the things you can touch and the stories that are passed down. You’ll get to paint a mini plinth that you can take home as a little memento from the lovely town of Guatapé.During this experience, we’ll share our local history with you while you kick back and enjoy painting.

Coffee tasting tour
We get to enjoy coffees that are grown right here in the region, made using various methods by a skilled barista. As we sip, we share stories about Guatapé, its main squares, and the fascinating history of the town.

Cocoa tour Chocolate
In this fun community tourism adventure, you’ll get to explore a cocoa farm, wander through the crops, join in on making your very own chocolate bar, and enjoy some time in the river to unwind while giving your skin a little treat with cocoa.

Nature Adventure Viewpoint
We journey through Guatapé, taking one of the town’s paths that guides us along ancient royal roads once walked by our indigenous people and muleteers. Along the way, you can explore the beautiful plants and animals in one of the best-preserved forests, before arriving at the viewpoint on Guatapé’s tallest mountain. The trail stretches for
8 km.

Guatapé by Boat
Enjoy the waters of the Guatapé and El Peñol reservoirs on comfortable, fast boats with a guided tour that explains the points of interest in the Peñol-Guatapé reservoir. The one-hour tour extends to the old Peñol reservoir.

Tour privado Zocalos
On this fun tour of Guatapé’s lively streets, we’ll share stories about the history of the main squares, the beautiful reservoir, the vibrant streets, and the local social and cultural traditions. We’ll wander down Duque Street, Julia Alley, Remembrance Street, the main square, and the central plaza.

Beatriz Giraldo
She’s a flight attendant and a biology student who discovered the meaning of life through books in Hispanic Philology.
She worked for six years as a guide at the Guatapé Community Museum and is passionate about sharing local history with tourists.
Astrid Saldarriaga:
I study TV production, bartending, journalism, and tour guiding. She loves hearing stories from Guatapé residents and tourists about travel and adventure; but what she loves most is surprising travelers with the local history of her beloved Guatapé.

Location
Guatape is a 2 hour drive from Medellin and a 2.5 hour bus ride from Medellin’s terminal del norte. Buses run every 30 minutes from 5:30 to 18:30 with extended hours during the peak holiday seasons. The closest international airport is Jose Maria Cordova International Airport (JMC), 1,5 hours from Guatape.
